There is No Time Like the Present to Start

Before I start writing about how my interest started for aviation, I would love to share that it is never too late to follow your dreams and there is no time like the present to start.

Being a pilot is most of the pilots' childhood dream job. However, I had my first flight when I was 17 years old and I had never been to an airport before. Basically, I had no idea about aviation till that age.

During my first journey on board, I really liked the wing shape of the aircraft which was a Boeing 777. The aerodynamics, rules, cabin crew, food, view and more were so fascinating. Thanks to four hours on that flight, I have fallen in love with aviation and decided to book more flights to spend more time on board.

It may sound weird but I thought that being a pilot is kind of an unreachable job. That is why, I never thought about studying in an aviation academy. But after a couple years, I had many friends who were pilots who informed me about the process. I was so worried about my mathematics and physics knowledge at the beginning since I was studying in a school of foreign languages. But nothing is impossible! I spent extra time on calculations and finally I was ready. At the same time, I graduated from a university as an English Language Lecturer.

When I felt that I was ready to start my training, I was not really ready at all. Deciding where to study was the hardest part for me. There were numerous academies, universities and courses that I could choose from. I had to find the best place that suits me and of course the one that has Cessna on their fleet was a non-negotiable. Yes, I am a Cessna Lover which will drag me to fly Boeings in the future.

After I had my first flight, literally my eyes were smiling. I was so happy to be in the sky and have control of an aircraft. For a second, I got so angry at myself for wasting time in my previous university. I could have been a pilot 5 years ago! I was not satisfied about the time I started flying. However, all of my thoughts changed after I met other students in the academy. Most of them were from Italy, Spain, China and Turkey. And you know what? They were having difficulties while talking to tower, since they had difficulty understanding and using the language properly. It was at that moment I realised that I just didn't waste my time in university, it was also a step for my aviation life. There is a time for everything and a time for every purpose in our lives!

I became a pilot thanks to the people who I talked with. Whoever needs a person to talk to as well, here I am! Don't hesitate to reach me out and I will be more than happy to help anyone.

Believe in yourself and follow your dreams!
